I'm Baaaaack//Trouble Will Find Me

 hat-H&M; blazer, shirt and booties-thrift; cords-RW&CO
(I'm not nearly as pissed off in real life as I look in this photo/I'm not pissed off at all...)

I'm pretty sure that I'm back to blogging for a month at least (sounds promising, right?). I finished a year of college at the end of April and headed to Milan about a week later and worked as a model for two months. I've been back in Canada for a month, now and I'm currently modeling in Toronto and thought I'd do some blogging because I miss it and I finally have time!

I guess I'd attribute the inspiration for this outfit to both Jack White and Nick Cave, even though it was put together without either in mind. It's been stupidly cold-ish (aka 14-23 degrees Celsius, but to a person with horrible circulation, it feels more like -2 degrees), so I can comfortably wear jackets! Sadly, I had to replace my old favourite black blazer with this one because she's literally fallen to pieces. R.I.P.

Saint Laurent Paris Pre-Fall 2013 Campaign

I'm having trouble formulating an opinion about Hedi Slimane's newest campaign (although, I must say that I'm leaning more toward the love side of the spectrum) for Pre-Fall 2013 at the helm of SLP. Opting for *slightly washed up* musicians instead of fashion models, the campaign stars a grungified Marilyn Manson, Courney Love, Ariel Pink (of Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti) and Kim Gordon (of Sonic Youth).

What do you think? Love it or loathe it?

Lula Magazine S/S 2013: Take My Love, Take It Down

(Images via Lula Magazine #16 Spring/Summer 2013)

It isn't often that I find an editorial as romantically wonderful as this one (seriously, it's now my desktop background). The spread is modeled by [faux] readhead Codie Young, shot by Damon Heath and styled by Leith Clark for Lula Magazine's Spring/Summer 2013 issue and charmingly titled, "Take My Love, Take It Down." I can't take my eyes off of this spread, probably because it's so genuinely whimsical and simply lovely. Everything from the hair (by Owen Gould) to the dramatic eye makeup (by Kristin Gallegos) to the silhouettes of the clothes oozes 1960's glamor/bohemian flower child and I can't get enough of it!

You can view the rest of the editorial here.

The Return of the Bermuda Short

It would seem that for the past few Spring seasons (which have seemed like eons to me) short shorts ruled the urban catwalk. This season, we're seeing hemlines fall to just above the knee (much to my excitement), which I see as a breath of fresh air. Love them or hate them, bermuda shorts are back! Seen on countless runways, including Rag & Bone, DKNY, Alexander Wang and Nicole Miller, I think it's safe to say that bermuda shorts are here to stay!

Lookbook Love: Ax and Apple

Ax + Apple designer, Jamie Lyn, uses objects such as world coins, men's pocket watch chains, pen knives and other knick knacks from a collection that she's accumulated to create jewellery that is modern with a vintage feel. The brand's most recent lookbook, "Year of the Snake" caught my interest with its artistic edge and  eye catching use of colour. Just see for yourself...

What I Would Wear: Osheaga

The line-up for the Osheaga music festival, which takes place over the span of three days (August 2-4 are this year's dates) each summer in Montreal, was released on Monday. Some of my absolute favourite bands, like The Cure, New Order, Vampire Weekend, Phoenix and Beach House are playing. Now, there is absolutely no way that I will be able to make it to this festival due to insufficient funds and that possibility that I won't even be in the country this summer (more on that later)! A girl can dream, though, can't she? I've decided to put together three Osheaga-worthy outfits that I would wear to the festival of my dreams...

Day 1

Day 2

Beauty Trend: Less is More

I don't usually post about beauty for the sole reason that I know next to nothing about makeup and skin care. Not to mention that I rarely even wear makeup myself (other than the occasional bit of lipstick and nude eyeshadow to brighten my eyes when I'm looking a bit sleepy).

Lucky for me, many NYFW designers sent models down the runway with minimal, natural beauty looks for Fall 2013 RTW and I just can't get enough!

Girl Crushing: Caroline Issa

Caroline Issa (you may have seen her in one of J Crew's campaigns back in 2012) is the executive fashion director of London's Tank magazine and she's my current girl crush. I would even go so far as to say that she's replaced the likes of Alexa Chung as my #1 style icon. She has a knack for mixing prints and pairing unexpected pieces together.

British Vogue March 2013: Come As You Are

 (Images via British Vogue)

This editorial is so gorgeous and grungey that I had to share it. The editorial, which was shot by Josh Olins and styled by Clare Richardson is in this month's issue of British Vogue and it's called "Come As You Are." I love the mixture of prints and textures and I adore the bare faces and natural hair on models Meghan Collison and Juliana Schurig.
